Aunt Bette's Crisp Pickle Slices
Crisp Pickle Slices 
Qty Unit of Measure Ingredient
4 quarts sliced cukes
4   onions, sliced 
1   green pepper 
1   red pepper 
1/2 cup canning salt 
3 cups white vinegar
5 cups sugar 
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric 
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 TBSP mustard seed 
Directions
Slice cukes thin. Add onion, and red and green pepper, cut in narrow slices. Add salt and cover with ice. Mix thoroughly. Let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine vinegar, sugar and spices. Pour over cukes. Heat to boiling. Seal in sterilized jars.
