Margaret Mahoney married John Finnucan of Rochester, N.Y., with whom she had four daughters. They were Martha, Mary, Agnes and Nellie. They lived north of Springboro, Pa., in an area known as Shadeland.

In the picture are, seated at left, Mary Hinchey, standing behind her is Martha Finnucan Robertson, seated at right, Margaret Mahoney Finnnucan and the standing youth is Neal Finnucan. This photograph was identified as a four generation picture. I have been told that Neal was a natural child of Martha and was raised as a sibling. The information reportedly came from my Father. John Finnucan's obituary lists as survivors four daughters and "one son, J. Cornelius Finnucan." Baptismal records at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Conneautville show an entry for John Cornelius McLaughlin, born 15 July 1901 to Martha Finnucan and Lucius Edward McLaughlin. The sponsors were John and Maraget Finnucan. It was not uncommon for a child born to an unmarried woman to be raised as a younger brother or sister.

My Aunt, Catherine Tobin Mahoney, relates that Margaret and John Finnucan legally adopted their Grandson hence the name change from McLaughlin to Finnucan, which also accounts for the obituary reference to John Finnucan having a Son at the time of his death.
